A number of Holy Trinity Music Ministry folks made the trek out to Trophy Club for Thiago's piano recital. One group met at Holy Trinity to car pool out. We stopped in Grapevine where Connie and Andrew joined us for a quick meal at The Macaroni Grill. We found a good crowd already in place, including Sarah D. and Erin, when we arrived at the church. The first half of the program was entirely Chopin, a nod to the 200th anniversary of the composer's birth. Cake and coffee accompanied intermission. The second half of the program included Liszt and Rachmaninoff and then finished with a rousing rendition of Horowitz's transcription of Sousa's Stars and Stripes Forever. The audience responded to this finale with a cheer and a standing ovation.
